QCon SF 2018 – Open Space, User Story Mapping, Mob Programming, and Retrospectives
November 5, 2018 @ 9:00 am - November 7, 2018 @ 7:00 pm
Join us for three days of Open Space, as well as mini-workshops on User Story Mapping, Mob Programming, and Retrospectives!
What is Open Space?
Every day at QConSF, we’ll open space five times, once for each track. Open Space is a kind of unconference, a simple way to run productive meetings for 5 to 2000 or more people, and a powerful way to lead any kind of organization in everyday practice and extraordinary change.
User Story Mapping
“User Story Mapping is a dead simple idea. Talk about the user’s journey through your product by building a simple model that tells your user’s story as you do. It turns out this simple idea makes working with user stories in agile development a lot easier.” – Jeff Patton
In this session, you will learn user story mapping by doing it – you’ll collaboratively create a story map with other attendees.
Mob Programming is the whole team working on the same thing, at the same time, in the same space, and at the same computer. In this session, we will live code using mob programming. You’ll leave with enough knowledge to mob program when you get back to work.
Retrospectives are the tool for team optimization. Learn by doing in this session – we will introduce a framework for retrospectives and then run one, using participants’ recent workweek as the input. You’ll leave with the ability to run your own retrospective and optimize your team.
See you at QCon!
